Hi everyone

Finally, I found a moment to take some pictures of miniatures that I've been painting for the last 4 months. Hereby I present the miniature of Scibor Dwarf Nobleman as the Leader of the Guild of the Dwarven Trade Company. I have already written about the model in this extensive entry which I encourage you to visit. I have not yet had the opportunity to use this guy during the battle, but I feel that he will fulfil his job as a leader.

Black Knights #2

Another 3 knights from the Skeleton Horde box. In fact, only two of them are the original miniatures from that set. I managed to get an extra knight with the horse by converting an old model from mid-90s that I had in my collection. Now I own 6 knights in total which is ideal for Dragon Rampant games. I'm pretty happy with the effect especially because I did not use any kind of modelling puty which saved the time I spent on the project. Everything keeps the same theme as the rest of my undead army so it looks good on the table. I hope you enjoy these.

Descent - Leoric of the Book

Leoric of the Book from Descent 2nd Edition the boardgame. Painted by my sister during the short introductory session to the painting hobby. Her first ever painted miniature.

Siostra zawodowo zajmuje się grafiką komputerową więc mimo braku znajomości technik malarskich poradziła sobie z tym modelem nadspodziewanie dobrze. A trzeba zauważyć że rzeźba i materiał z którego wykonano figurkę do najlepszych nie należą.

You have certainly noticed that miniatures sculpted by the polish artist Scibor Teleszyński which are being sold in the store http://sciborminiatures.com/ are one of my favorites. I have a special appreciation for the Dwarven line. They have something I like: a variety of weaponry combined with travel attributes such as bags, coats, lamps and maps. Their theme brings to mind the classic imagination of the dwarves created by Tolkien in the Hobbit. I have recently purchased a few new models:

Arkhan the Black

Hello

The first model presented this year is Arkhan the Black from Gamesworkshop’s Skeleton Horde set. I do not particularly like this sculpture and its theme but so far, I have not had the opportunity to face such a large model and this fact encouraged me to paint it. There are so many well-painted and converted Arkhans in the network that it's almost a bit shameful to show you this unimposing portrayal. On the other hand, my interpretation is a bit different because nobody is painting this model in vivid colors and with flowers on the stand:) The effect is fully intentional and fits my collection of comic style undeads ...

Building King George V #3 // Wieści ze stoczni #3

Hi!

My return to blogging means not only that I returned to painting the 28 mm scale but also means that I returned to work on the King George V battleship. The last 2 months were relatively productive and there is a chance that the ship will be finished this year.

Reaktywacja bloga to nie tylko powrót do malowania armii do Dragon Rampant ale również do prac stoczniowych nad pancernikiem King George V. Ostatni miesiąc był bardzo produktywny i jest szansa że okręt powstanie szybciej niż  ORP Ślązak (kto się trochę marynarką RP interesuje ten wie o co chodzi).

Building King George V #2 // Wieści ze stoczni #2

I am currently working on the details of the model using photoetached parts manufactured by Czech company Eduard. Tedious work but I hope that it will pay off when the model is finished. The project is so time consuming that I have a feeling that I could already have painted at least one or two new armies for Dragon Rampant instead of it. Korzystając z kolejnego zwolnienia lekarskiego nadrabiam obowiązki związane z hobby. Aktualnie pracuję nad detalami modelu i bawię się w waloryzację. Żmudna praca, ale mam nadzieje że będzie warto. Mam wrażenie że w czasie, który poświęciłem na ten projekt dałbym rade pomalować co najmniej jedną nową armię do Dragon Rampant. Poprzednie wpisy dotyczące tego modelu znajdziecie tutaj oraz tutaj.

It's been about two months since encouraged by a friend I bought that scale model so it is probably a good time to show how I stand with its construction. The project is something 'extra' and I don't assume any rigid deadlines for its completion. I usually work on it during coaching sessions with my friends who also got a bit engaged in the hobby. As you remember, some time ago I wrote that I had presented all my dwarves from Avatars of War Ironshieds set. It turned out that I lied and several models from the box have never been published. I found 3 old photos while doing a cleanup on my disk. This time I counted all the models and I am certain that these are the last ones. It seems to me that I painted them in 2015 and the photos were taken by my old camera.  I have to work on the settings as the new photo (the last one) is somehow worse than those taken by me with my old equipment.

Descent - Ynfernael Hulk

Ynfernael Hulk from Shadow of Nerekhall which is an expansion for Descent 2nd Edition the boardgame. The sculpt is not great but I somehow like that beast. Fast project for myself. Can be also use in Song of Blade and Heroes and Dragon Rampant

Ynernael Hulk z dodatku Cienie Nerekhall do drugiej edycji gry planszowej Descent wydanej przez FFG. Jak wszystkie figurki do tej gry muszę przyznać, że model jest ładny ale wykonanie odlewu tragiczne. Bardzo dużo czasu zajęło mi ukrycie niedoskonałości rzeźby. Przyjemnie się malowało i wydaje się że nawet nieźle wyszło w porównaniu do innych pomalowanych kolosów, których zdjęcia można znaleźć w internecie. 

Unboxing King George V // Rzut okiem na brytyjski pancernik w skali 1:350

Painting Tiger I for a friend has resulted in a desire to create my own model from World War II period. The choice fell on the british battleship King George V. I'm going to place it on a diorama imitating the sea. Until this year I've never dealt with historical models so I am a little  afraid of the final effect but one who doesn't risk never gets to drink champagne. It will be definitely a great fun.

Malowanie Tigera z kolegą zaowocowało chęcią sklejenia własnego modelu z okresu II Wojny. Wybór padł na brytyjski pancernik Król Jerzy V. Mam zamiar po pomalowaniu  umieścić go na podstawce imitującej morze. Nigdy nie zajmowałem się modelami historycznymi a to już drugi w tym miesiącu. Nie jestem pewny czy podołam ale zabawa zapowiada się przednia.

Perry Miniatures Light Cavalry 1450-1500 #1 // Lekka jazda z Drakenborgu #1

First part of my Light Cavalry unit from Perry Miniatures. I use them as light cavalry archers  in Song of Blade and Heroes or generic  light cavalry  in Lion/Dragon Rampant games. The historic coat of arms on the banner belongs to the former polish city of Lwów (nowadays Lviv, Ukraine)  from the XV century. 

Kolejne figurki od Perry Miniatures, które pomalowałem kilka miesięcy temu. Mają za sobą już kilka stoczonych bitew ale niestety długo czekały na swoją flagę a bez niej nie chciałem ich tutaj publikować. Chorągiew Ziemi Lwowskiej z połowy XV wieku lecz figurki uczestniczą też w starciach w klimatach fantasy jako lekka jazda Księcia z Drakenborgu dlatego nie trzymam się ściśle realiów historycznych.

Garden of Morr as the Old Graveyard // Cementarzysko

Using the first weekend that I have spend home since immemorial time I was able to finish the graveyard project ahead of schedule. Korzystając z pierwszego od niepamiętnych czasów wolnego weekendu spędzonego w domu udało mi się zakończyć projekt cmentarzyska przed planowanym terminem.  Trochę swojej inwencji, trochę konwersji, głównie malowanie. W sumie to już piąty post w tym tygodniu i nie sądzę żeby szybko powtórzył się tak produktywny hobbystyczny okres więc zapraszam do dokładnego oglądania i komentowania.

In today's post I present a short step by step  tutorial that explains how I made candles for my cemetery terrain. The process is very simple and essentially costs nothing. The only necessary materials are redundant cable and PVA glue.

W dzisiejszym wpisie krótki poradnik krok po kroku w którym opiszę jak wykonałem świece do makiety cmentarza. Sposób jest bardzo prosty i w zasadzie nic nie kosztuje. Jedynymi potrzebnymi materiałami są zbędny kabel i klej do drewna.

After two long evenings I have completed about 50% of the scenery. I had a few extra bits so I decided to create several additions to the original GW design.  Right now I have to finish the painting and add some details to the bases. I am aiming to finish all the pieces next week. Have a look at my progress so far.
 

Dwa wieczory i cmentarzysko jest skończone już w 50 procentach. Miałem trochę dodatkowych bitsów więc postanowiłem dodać trochę elementów w podobnym klimacie do tych wyprodukowanych przez GW. Pozostało tylko malowanie i wykończenie podstawek. Na poniższych zdjęciach możecie spojrzeć na postęp moich prac nad tą wyjątkowo udaną scenerią od naszego ulubionego dostawcy zabawek. Całą zabawę mam nadzieję ukończyć w przyszłym tygodniu.

New flags // Nowe proporce w skali 28 mm

Today I share with you another set of flags ready to be printed for 28mm scale miniatures. Simply download the file from this location and print it on a standard sheet of A4 paper. 

  

Among them you can find two teutonic banners, two polish coat of arms (Eagle -  City of Peremyshl coat of arms, Lion - Lviv coat of arms) and one flag from Witcher universe. Unboxing the Garden of Morr \\ Rzut okiem na cmentarzysko od GW

Despite the fact that  I have problems with finding time for the hobby I purchased some new toys:)  This time it was Garden of Morr from Games Workshop. At that price from GW,  I have to say this set is a pretty good value. It has 4 easy to build structures and a decent amount of wall pieces.  You can either create a single graveyard or use them separately on you gaming table.  Have a look at the the photos I took just after I had finished unboxing this marvelous set.

Brak czasu na hobby powoduje, że nie mogę zakończyć moich rozgrzebanych projektów makietowych.  Pisząc te słowa myślę oczywiście o zamku, który zacząłem modelować na początku tego roku. W międzyczasie jak to ja, połasiłem się na zakup nowej zabawki - w tym wypadku zestawu od Games Workshop, który widzicie na tych zdjęciach. Muszę przyznać, że to chyba najbardziej opłacalne pudełko od tego producenta, który generalnie nie należy do najtańszych:) W zestawie znajdziecie  3 grobowce, pomnik, bramę i naprawdę długi mur, który wystarcza by otoczyć nim pozostałe budynki.

Kolejni Rycerze z Drakenborgu pochodzący zestawu Perry Miniatures Foot Knights 1450-1500 składającego się na 36 spieszonych ciężkozbrojnych rycerzy. Baner jest luźną reprezentacją herbu Łabędź, który nosił m.in Piotr Dunin, naczelny dowódca wojsk polskich z czasów Wojny Trzynastoletniej z Zakonem.
