Descent - Rat Swarm

Rat Swarms come from Descent 2nd Edition. The sculpt is not great but I somehow like them. Fast project for myself. Can be also use in Song of Blade and Heroes.

Trzy prezentowane stada szczurów pochodzą z drugiej edycji gry planszowej Descent. Modele malowało się przyjemnie aczkolwiek odlew jest tragiczny a detali praktycznie brak lub sa zakryte nadlewkami. Wykręciłem z nich maks:) . Środkowa grupa szczurków ma zgodnie z zasadami lepsze statystyki i dlatego dorobiłem im błyszczące oczy.

Perry Miniatures English Army Bowmen #2 // Łucznicy z Drakenborgu #2

The first fully manned party of medieval archers has been finished. Well… almost as there is a banner missing. I am not fully convinced on the colors of the banner and that is why it is not attached yet. Recently I have hit upon an idea to paint my Knights of Drakenborg in two different color schemes. As my armies have grown I decided to try Lion Rampant instead of Song of Blade and Heroes and for that I would like to have two different medieval warbands to play in the period known in Poland as Thirteen Years’ War. Still I would like to have an option to field both of these warbands as a cohesive army to fight against my other fantasy themed armies. I will repost that unit with finished banner when I finally decide what faction it will represent. :)

Pierwszy dwunastoosobowy oddział skompletowany. Brakuje jedynie baneru, ale nie mogę się zdecydować, co ma przedstawiać. Zapytacie pewnie dlaczego tyle modeli w oddziale? Chcę żeby ilość figurek przypadających na pojedynczą jednostkę umożliwiała grę na zasadach z podręcznika Lion Rampant. Wraz z rosnąca ilością modeli pomyślałem, żeby spróbować czegoś innego niż Song of Blade and Heroes. Coraz częściej myślę o stworzeniu dwóch późnośredniowiecznych armii przedstawiających wojsko polskie i krzyżackie z czasów trwania konfliktu znanego jako wojna trzynastoletnia. Uzbrojenie nie będzie 100 % zgodne z realiami historycznymi, ale klimat zostanie zachowany. W razie czego będę mógł połączyć te dwie frakcje i wystawić jako Rycerzy z Drakenborgu na przykład przeciwko Krasnoludom. Wrzucę fotkę z banerem jak tylko zdecyduje pod jaką flagą będą walczyć ci uzbrojeni w łuki piechurzy. Do następnego razu!

After long time without posting anything new we've finally managed to borrow a camera from a friend. Our settings and lights are not great this time but you can see some details on these photos. Miniatures painted especially for Lions Rampant but we also use them in Song of Blade and Heroes.

Po długiej przerwie wrzucamy pierwszą część łuczników od Perry Miniatures. Niestety tym razem zdjęcia zrobione przy odrobinie za dużym oświetleniu.

Hi.

This time the post is written mostly in Polish as it is presenting well known models manufactured by Perry Miniatures. There are a lot of English reviews of these miniatures in the net although I have not found anything worth to mention in my native language. Encourage by the superb quality of Foot Men-at-Arms models that we posses I have recently bought next 3 boxes of Perry's Plastic Kits. ;) We have already primed almost 30 models and painted some of them. I will soon post our ready models here. Meanwhile if you interested in the content of the boxes just have a look at the following photos. :)

W zeszłym miesiącu odebraliśmy paczkę zawierającą nowe modele, które postaramy się pomalować w przeciągu następnych kilku miesięcy. Pisząc te słowa, mamy ukończonych już 12 łuczników oraz 4 jeźdźców, ale nie znaleźliśmy jeszcze czasu by ich sfotografować. :)
Wszystkie modele wyprodukowane zostały z plastiku przez Perry Miniatures. Figurki nie mają sobie równych jeżeli chodzi o jakość, a także cenę. Każdy z tych zestawów można nabyć za 16 do 18 funtów, jeżeli sprowadzamy je z Wielkiej Brytanii lub za ok. 105-110 zł w wybranych polskich sklepach modelarskich. Niestety w Polsce często zdarzają się problemy z dostępnością, dlatego wybraliśmy opcję brytyjską. Zapraszamy do krótkiego rzutu okiem na zawartość pudełek wraz z naszym opisem.

The Hill // Wzgórze

The hill project was prepared for a terrain contest in less than 5 days. It was done simultaneously with the cave presented in the last post. If you like you can check following posts describing the process of building the cave and the hill:

Today we want to show you our new cave. It was made as an entry for the terrain competition announced by the creator of Dwarven Workshop blog. That guy makes beautiful and climatic sculptures using wood and puty. Find some time to look at his works. Hope you will like the cave :)

Cave and hill - Day 4 // Jaskinia i wzgórze - Dzień 4

Day 4 - first day of the delay but who cares. Today I could dedicate only very small amount of time to the hobby. A little drybrush was used here and there, some greens were applied and finally I added more browns to the bases of both models. At last the package with foliage has arrived but I need to postpone all works till Monday so see you all after the weekend.

Day 3. Everything was glued and I could start painting both elements. This time with support from my girlfriend so the process was smooth and successful. We tried to achieve a natural looking rock. The models were primed with white and then very diluted browns were applied using sponge and brushes. Next step will be drybrush.

Second day of work has brought really good results. I added more cork and filled all crevices with plaster. Everything was covered with stones and sand using old but good as always PVA glue. The elements are starting to look like the real rocks. Pretty satisfied with the outcome so far.

Hi All,

a lot of time has passed since I posted something new here. Was very busy spending my long annual leave on doing nothing. Some time ago I made a resolution to take photos of all models which were finished last months. I hoped I would share some of them after my return this week but as always the plans have changed. I have only 3 days before leaving once again and the collegue of mine announced a small competition which I decided to take part in.

Anniversary Post and current projects!

One year ago on the 16th of April 2014 we started our blog PinAtWar. We haven't supposed that we will manage to keep posting and working on our blog for so long. There are still some projects that we are finishing in our workshop and few new ideas still waiting to happen. Your comments, likes and shares encourage us to continuing - writing, making photos and finishing old projects. :)
