You have certainly noticed that miniatures sculpted by the polish artist Scibor Teleszyński which are being sold in the store http://sciborminiatures.com/ are one of my favorites. I have a special appreciation for the Dwarven line. They have something I like: a variety of weaponry combined with travel attributes such as bags, coats, lamps and maps. Their theme brings to mind the classic imagination of the dwarves created by Tolkien in the Hobbit. I have recently purchased a few new models:

Building King George V #3 // Wieści ze stoczni #3

Hi!

My return to blogging means not only that I returned to painting the 28 mm scale but also means that I returned to work on the King George V battleship. The last 2 months were relatively productive and there is a chance that the ship will be finished this year.

Reaktywacja bloga to nie tylko powrót do malowania armii do Dragon Rampant ale również do prac stoczniowych nad pancernikiem King George V. Ostatni miesiąc był bardzo produktywny i jest szansa że okręt powstanie szybciej niż  ORP Ślązak (kto się trochę marynarką RP interesuje ten wie o co chodzi).

Photos of the Cementry - 50% done // Zdjęcia z budowy i malowanie cmenatrzyska

After two long evenings I have completed about 50% of the scenery. I had a few extra bits so I decided to create several additions to the original GW design.  Right now I have to finish the painting and add some details to the bases. I am aiming to finish all the pieces next week. Have a look at my progress so far.
 

Dwa wieczory i cmentarzysko jest skończone już w 50 procentach. Miałem trochę dodatkowych bitsów więc postanowiłem dodać trochę elementów w podobnym klimacie do tych wyprodukowanych przez GW. Pozostało tylko malowanie i wykończenie podstawek. Na poniższych zdjęciach możecie spojrzeć na postęp moich prac nad tą wyjątkowo udaną scenerią od naszego ulubionego dostawcy zabawek. Całą zabawę mam nadzieję ukończyć w przyszłym tygodniu.

Unboxing the Garden of Morr \\ Rzut okiem na cmentarzysko od GW

Despite the fact that  I have problems with finding time for the hobby I purchased some new toys:)  This time it was Garden of Morr from Games Workshop. At that price from GW,  I have to say this set is a pretty good value. It has 4 easy to build structures and a decent amount of wall pieces.  You can either create a single graveyard or use them separately on you gaming table.  Have a look at the the photos I took just after I had finished unboxing this marvelous set.

Brak czasu na hobby powoduje, że nie mogę zakończyć moich rozgrzebanych projektów makietowych.  Pisząc te słowa myślę oczywiście o zamku, który zacząłem modelować na początku tego roku. W międzyczasie jak to ja, połasiłem się na zakup nowej zabawki - w tym wypadku zestawu od Games Workshop, który widzicie na tych zdjęciach. Muszę przyznać, że to chyba najbardziej opłacalne pudełko od tego producenta, który generalnie nie należy do najtańszych:) W zestawie znajdziecie  3 grobowce, pomnik, bramę i naprawdę długi mur, który wystarcza by otoczyć nim pozostałe budynki.

Podczas gdy projekt zamku na razie odpoczywa, wrzucam kilka WIPów z mojego warsztatu. Cele są dwa. Pierwszy reprezentacyjne służy pokazaniu co aktualnie znajduje się na warsztacie. Drugi po wrzuceniu WIPa łatwiej mi się  zmotywować do skończenia pracy. Na zdjęciach  głównie lekka kawaleria od braci Perrych. Zdjęcia mają kilkanaście dni więc aktualnie modele czekają jedynie na proporzec i będę mógł wrzucić gotowe modele na bloga.

Unboxing a new camera // Nowy aparat - nowe możliwości!

It took a while but I finally bought a new camera . Now I will be able to post new photos and my finished works more often . Until now, I had to rely on the old Fuji FinePix S5500, which was partly damaged and therefore inconvenient to use and the quality of the pictures were rather low. A small amount of pictures on the blog was caused mainly because I had to borrow cameras from my friends and family and as you probably know there is not always the time and desire to do this. Since last week I have  Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60. Despite the fact that this is a compact camera it still takes  good photos .

For a start  I post some pics of the equipment. I hope it will fulfil all the expectations that I have for it.

If you are my international reader I would like to excuse you as once again I wrote this post only in Polish. It presents well known models manufactured by Perry Miniatures. There are a lot of English reviews of these miniatures in the net although I have not found anything worth to mention in my language.

Minęło sporo czasu od mojego ostatniego wpisu. Musiałem odsapnąć od tworzenia makiety zamku, a poza tym zmieniałem pracę, więc ostatnich kilka tygodni nie pozostawiło mi wiele czasu na hobby.  Kilka razy usiadłem do malowania, zacisnąłem zęby i ukończyłem trzy stare projekty malarskie.  Jak tylko uda mi się pożyczyć dobry aparat, to zacznę wrzucać foty nowych modeli. Ale ja nie o tym dziś chciałem…

Today's entry was originally intended to show only the effects of the tests that I carried out in order to find the optimal color scheme for the walls of the castle. Due to numerous inquiries from our facebook readers about the way of creating bricks I decided to show you the process. At the same time, I would like to ask you for help as I am looking for  tips/ideas that would improve the appearance/painting of the catle walls.  I am looking forward for your comments under the post :)

Dzisiejszy wpis miał początkowo przestawiać jedynie efekty testów jakie przeprowadziłem w celu znalezienia optymalnej kolorystyki dla murów zamkowych. Z uwagi na liczne zapytania o sposób tworzenia cegieł postanowiłem przy okazji pokazać wam jak je wykonuję żeby część z was mogła znaleźć w tym wpisie odpowiedzi na swoje pytania. Jednocześnie chciałbym poprosić Was o podpowiedzi/pomysły, które pomogłyby mi usprawnić wygląd/malowanie cegieł. Czekam na wasze komentarze pod postem:)

How to build a castle: part III - Square Tower // Budowa zamku Drakenborg: część III - Wieża

In today's post I'll show you how I made a square tower for my castle. I'm sorry that I publish the entries so rarely but I invest my limited free time in modeling/painting miniatures and I barely find time to sit in front of a computer. I limited the text to a minimum as the steps are fairly well presented in the pictures. Besides that I use mostly the same tricks that I used in the construction of the gate. If you would like to learn a little more about some of my modeling techniques ask in the comments. Certainly I will answer all your questions.

W dzisiejszym wpisie pokażę Wam krok po kroku w jaki sposób wykonałem kwadratową wieżę zamku Drakenborg. Przepraszam, że tak rzadko publikuje wpisy, ale mój ograniczony wolny czas inwestuję w modelowanie/malowanie figurek i nieczęsto znajduje czas na siedzenie przy kompie. Tekst ograniczyłem do minimum, jako że kolejne kroki zostały dosyć dobrze przedstawione na zdjęciach. Poza tym wykorzystuje w większości te same sztuczki, które wykorzystałem przy budowie bramy. Jeżeli chcielibyście dowiedzieć się nieco więcej o jakiejś technice modelarskiej, to zadawajcie pytania w komentarzach. Z pewnością na wszystko odpowiem.

Welcome to our first entry of "How to build a castle". In this series of posts we will try to show and describe the successive stages of small stronghold construction. Knowing our pace, the project may have difficulty to be completed in 2016, however one should always set target to himself at the start;) We are currently at the stage of conceptual work and design. We have not yet decided whether it should be an enclosed construction which can be placed anywhere on the table or should it have a semi-opened structure, so that you can move the models in it. In the second case, the castle will always have to be placed near the edge of the table and only front part of the castle would be built. We have already spent about 6 hours and have not yet achieved any significant progress... Finding inspiration and choosing concept arts proved to be very long lasting. In the first entry we want to show you pictures and scale-models that will use as an inspiration for our work.

Unboxing Perry Miniatures Plastic Kits // Nowe figurki od braci Perrych

This time the post is written mostly in Polish as it is presenting well known models manufactured by Perry Miniatures. There are a lot of English reviews of these miniatures in the net although I have not found anything worth to mention in my native language. Encourage by the superb quality of Foot Men-at-Arms models that we posses I have recently bought next 3 boxes of Perry's Plastic Kits. ;) We have already primed almost 30 models and painted some of them. I will soon post our ready models here. Meanwhile if you interested in the content of the boxes just have a look at the following photos. :)

W zeszłym miesiącu odebraliśmy paczkę zawierającą nowe modele, które postaramy się pomalować w przeciągu następnych kilku miesięcy. Pisząc te słowa, mamy ukończonych już 12 łuczników oraz 4 jeźdźców, ale nie znaleźliśmy jeszcze czasu by ich sfotografować. :)  
Wszystkie modele wyprodukowane zostały z plastiku przez Perry Miniatures. Figurki nie mają sobie równych jeżeli chodzi o jakość, a także cenę. Każdy z tych zestawów można nabyć za 16 do 18 funtów, jeżeli sprowadzamy je z Wielkiej Brytanii lub za ok. 105-110 zł w wybranych polskich sklepach modelarskich. Niestety w Polsce często zdarzają się problemy z dostępnością, dlatego wybraliśmy opcję brytyjską. Zapraszamy do krótkiego rzutu okiem na zawartość pudełek wraz z naszym opisem. 

The Cave // Jaskinia

Today we want to show you our new cave. It was made as an entry for the terrain competition announced by the creator of Dwarven Workshop blog. That guy makes beautiful and climatic sculptures using wood and puty. Find some time to look at his works. Hope you will like the cave :)

Cave and hill - Day 4 // Jaskinia i wzgórze - Dzień 4

Day 4 - first day of the delay but who cares. Today I could dedicate only very small amount of time to the hobby. A little drybrush was used here and there, some greens were applied and finally I added more browns to the bases of both models. At last the package with foliage has arrived but I need to postpone all works till Monday so see you all after the weekend.

Cave and hill - Day 3 // Jaskinia i wzgórze - Dzień 3

Day 3. Everything was glued and I could start painting both elements. This time with support from my girlfriend so the process was smooth and successful. We tried to achieve a natural looking rock. The models were primed with white and then very diluted browns were applied using sponge and brushes. Next step will be drybrush.

Second day of work has brought really good results. I added more cork and filled all  crevices with plaster. Everything was covered with stones and sand using old but good as always PVA glue. The elements are starting to look like the real rocks. Pretty satisfied with the outcome so far.

Hi All,

a lot of time has passed since I posted something new here. Was very busy spending my long annual leave on doing nothing. Some time ago I made a resolution to take photos of all models which were finished last months. I hoped I would share some of them after my return this week but as always the plans have changed. I have only 3 days before leaving once again and the collegue of mine announced a small competition which I decided to take part in. 

Anniversary Post and current projects!

One year ago on the 16th of April 2014 we started our blog PinAtWar. We haven't supposed that we will manage to keep posting and working on our blog for so long. There are still some projects that we are finishing in our workshop and few new ideas still waiting to happen. Your comments, likes and shares encourage us to continuing - writing, making photos and finishing old projects. :)

Week with WIP #2: cottage and orchard

Hi. This should be the second entry showing what do we had at our workbench last week. Unfortunately we hadn't had enough time to prepare and share it so we post this content several days later.

Witamy w drugiej części naszego tygodnia z niedokończonymi projektami - tym razem trochę krótszej niż poprzednia. :D Zamierzaliśmy pokazać Wam to w zeszłym tygodniu, ale niestety nie było kiedy "przelać myśli na papier".
